Went to a local pet shop today and had a tag engraved. While I was waiting I picked out a new collar as well :D

AMALGAMATION

Amalgamation: the process of combining or uniting multiple entities into one form. 

It's a scary sounding word. But it feels like the right word to describe the process I'm going through both internally and online.

Internally I'm observing. uncovering. and appreciating the totality of me. Not a new explorer on this journey, but perhaps with 2012 on its way, I've been inspired to step up my game.

I have so many profiles and personas and extensions of myself online. The public and the private. Seeing what I can do do bring them all together somehow.

BRAND NEW PUPPY :D

Years ago, through the wonders of the internet, I discovered a new kind of pup. Guys on all fours, some with tails and paws, some collared, some in hoods. I was intrigued. This past November, I opened up a profile on pupzone.com, and began a journey to uncover my own inner pup. I'm not an avid journal keeper/writer, but I'm all over the place online. I'm hoping to collect my experiences here and share them, and create a pup timeline of sorts for myself and others.

BIRTHDAY

Today was an awesome day. I went to Northbound Leather to have a closer look at their pup hoods. I tried one on, (the first ever) and it felt so right! It was great to look into the mirror and see a pup staring back! I placed an order for one with some modifications to the original design. It'll be ready on Dec 28th. I can't wait!

Another great thing happened today. A friend/handler/Master who's been giving me some guidance and advice in the realm of puppydom helped name this pup.

This pup's name is Hawk! 

The name isn't just a reference to the hairstyle I've been sporting for several years. It also reflects certain qualities that I'm nurturing and manifesting in myself, including being a keen observer. "Hawk-Eye!"

symbolic-meanings.com has a great entry describing some of the symbolism and meanings associated with the Hawk. The excerpts below particularly resonnate with me at this time:

"...the hawk has tremendous vision." 

"...the hawk is a message for us to keep our eyes (both physical & spiritual) keen on the areas that most require our attention.  Specifically, the hawk beckons us to hone our focus on the areas that are out of balance in our lives. "

FIRST PUP NIGHT

Today I attended my first pup event! PUP NIGHT at the Black Eagle. I had a great time :D

I just went as an observer, but met and spoke to a number of friendly, great people. I'm looking forward to attending as a pup in the near future!
